ANMC Participates in ANZAC Day Parade with the Brigade of Gurkhas

The Australian Nepalese Multicultural Centre (ANMC) proudly participated in the ANZAC Day parade held in Melbourne on 25 April 2025.

ANMC President Dr Tilak Pokharel attended the ceremony and had the honour of laying a wreath in remembrance of those who served and sacrificed. He was joined by Immediate Past President Mr Gandhi Bhattarai and other ANMC members, standing in solidarity with The Brigade of Gurkhas.

The event was a moment to reflect on the deep connection between Nepalese soldiers and ANZAC history. The Gurkhas have a proud record of bravery and service during World War I, World War II, and many other conflicts, standing alongside Australian and Allied forces to protect world peace.

Dr Pokharel expressed heartfelt respect for the Gurkha soldiers, acknowledging their role in shaping the shared legacy of courage, resilience, and sacrifice. He also thanked veteran warrior Mr Bharansher Rai for the invitation and for arranging the wreath, making it possible for ANMC to participate meaningfully in the commemoration.

Participation in the ANZAC Day parade reinforces ANMC’s commitment to honouring history, promoting cultural connection, and contributing to the wider Australian community.

Lest we forget.
