Celebrating Harmony Day

Harmony Day celebrates cultural diversity, highlighting the unity and respect among different communities in Australia. In keeping with this spirit, the Australian Nepalese Multicultural Centre (ANMC) proudly hosted a group of around 50 visitors from the Hume Interfaith Network on the 22nd of March 2025.
ANMC President Dr Tilak Pokharel, joined by Executive Committee members Prem Prasad Kandel, Rubi Thapa, and respected spiritual leader Baal Byas Guru Shrawan Neupane, warmly welcomed the guests. They shared insights about the centre’s ongoing activities, purpose, and community engagements. Guests were also given an interactive tour of ANMC’s facilities.
Prominent community leader Madhuri Maskey enriched the visit by sharing meaningful insights into the rich Hindu and Buddhist cultural traditions of Nepal. This interaction provided valuable cultural context and helped strengthen mutual understanding and appreciation.
Members of the Hume Interfaith Network expressed their admiration for ANMC’s dedicated efforts towards promoting multicultural harmony and contributing significantly to the diverse community fabric of Victoria.
Concluding the event, President Dr Pokharel thanked the Hume Interfaith Network for their visit, emphasising how such exchanges are essential in fostering stronger community bonds and promoting social harmony.
At ANMC, we remain committed to celebrating diversity and building bridges of mutual respect and unity across communities.
