Tulasi Ropne Ekadashi Celebrated at ANMC

On 6 July 2025, the Australian Nepalese Multicultural Centre (ANMC) hosted a special celebration of Tulasi Ropne Ekadashi at its premises in Diggers Rest. The event was held to mark the auspicious occasion of Harishayani Ekadashi, one of the most spiritually significant days in the Hindu calendar.
Harishayani Ekadashi, observed on the 11th day of the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) in the month of Ashadh, signifies the beginning of Chaturmas—the four holy months.
The event, supported by the Nepalese Neighbourhood Community, featured several devotional and cultural activities:
- Tulasi Puja – A traditional worship ritual dedicated to the sacred Tulasi plant
- Tulasi Plantation – Symbolic planting to initiate the holy period of Chaturmas
- Bhajan-Kirtan – Soulful devotional singing led by community members
- Evening Aarati – A collective prayer with lighted lamps offering gratitude and reverence
- Free Prasad Distribution – Vegetarian offerings shared among all attendees
The calm and spiritual environment brought together families and devotees in reflection, devotion, and cultural connection.
ANMC extends its heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, participants, and partner organisations for making the event meaningful.
