Dashain, Tihar and Chhath Festival 2024 at ANMC (22 September – 1 October)

The Australian Nepalese Multicultural Center (ANMC) celebrated Dashain, Tihar and Chhath Festival 2024 from 22 September to 1 October. The event ran for nine days and brought together the community for daily religious and cultural activities.
Every day, Bhuwan Guru delivered Devi Bhagwat Katha Bachan, which was attended by devotees from different parts of Victoria. There were Durga Puja, Bhajan, Aarati and Prasad distribution each day at the ANMC temple.
Special pujas were performed on the main days of the festival, including Fulpati, Maha Saptami, Maha Asthami, Maha Nawami, Bijaya Dashami and Kanya Puja. The temple remained open for visitors throughout the week, and volunteers helped in organising puja, prasad and temple management.
On the tenth day of Nawa Durga, ANMC distributed Jamara to community members who came to receive blessings. The festival created an environment of devotion and unity and allowed the community to celebrate important cultural traditions together in Australia.
