ANMC Wins Community Organisation of the Year at NRNA Excellence Awards 2025

Australian Nepalese Multicultural Center (ANMC) has been honoured with the Community Organisation of the Year Award at the 2025 NRNA Excellence Awards. The award ceremony took place on Saturday, 6th September 2025 at the Hyatt Regency in Sydney. This national recognition celebrates ANMC’s outstanding contribution to the Nepali diaspora and wider multicultural community in Australia.

ANMC is one of the largest Nepali community organisations in Australia with more than 1,200 registered members. Since its establishment, ANMC has grown into a leading hub for culture, religion, social connection, and community service. The centre operates on a 15-acre land in Diggers Rest, Victoria, making it the first and only Nepali organisation in Australia with such a facility. It has become a true home for the community and a place where culture, traditions, and values are shared.

Every year, ANMC organises more than 50 events, from major festivals such as Teej, Dashain, Tihar, Shivaratri and Janmashtami to youth forums, senior gatherings, and women’s programs. These events bring together more than 10,000 participants annually, offering opportunities to unite, celebrate, and share values. Beyond cultural celebrations, ANMC delivers food relief programs and distributes essentials to international students and families in need, alongside regular prasad distribution during religious activities.

The organisation also provides a platform for young people, women, and seniors to lead and showcase their talents while building stronger intergenerational connections. Its leadership and programs have made ANMC a key partner for the Victorian Government in multicultural engagement. By hosting large-scale, well-organised events, ANMC has reshaped how MPs, Ministers, and multicultural leaders view the Nepali community, highlighting its role as a significant contributor to multicultural Victoria.

This award is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of ANMC’s members, volunteers, and community partners. As President Tilak Pokharel expressed, “This award reflects the dedication and hard work of our members, volunteers, and community partners. It is a proud moment for all of us and a milestone in our journey of service, unity, and cultural celebration.”

ANMC extends its gratitude to the NRNA Australia Awards Committee for this recognition and to all community members for their ongoing support. The organisation will continue to serve with inclusivity and dedication, building on this milestone to expand programs, strengthen facilities, and create more opportunities for cultural preservation, social connection, and community wellbeing.
