Indra Jatra 2025 Celebrated at ANMC with Historic Significance

Indra Jatra – Yenya Punhi 2025 was celebrated on 6th September 2025 at the Australian Nepalese Multicultural Centre in Diggers Rest with great pride and participation. For the first time outside Nepal, the festival was organised in its full traditional form by Newa Guthi Melbourne, with ANMC as a proud partner and host.
The event brought together community members, cultural groups, and leaders from across Victoria to witness and take part in one of Nepal’s most significant festivals. Indra Jatra is not only a vibrant celebration but also a symbol of identity, unity, and heritage. Hosting it at ANMC highlighted the Centre’s role as a home for cultural exchange, learning, and connection.
ANMC has always worked with the Nepali communities of Victoria to preserve and promote language, traditions, and values, and to pass them on to future generations. Events like Indra Jatra show how culture can thrive in Australia when organisations and communities work hand in hand.
We sincerely thank Newa Guthi Melbourne for their leadership, our distinguished guests for joining us, and all the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to make the day a success. Most of all, thank you to every participant whose presence gave life and meaning to the festival.
